Florimond Desprez: Germicopa’s new General Manager

Florimond Desprez follows in the footsteps of Eric Bargy as General Manager of Germicopa.

Germicopa, French specialist in the creation of potato varieties and plant production, distributes their products in 70 countries throughout the world. They are most renowned for their long-standing position in the firm flesh potato market.

Aged 29, Florimond Desprez, an INAPG engineer, began his career at Rothschild & Co. in the consultancy team for mergers and acquisitions.
He joined the FLORIMOND DESPREZ group in 2015, where he began as internal auditor at SESVanderHave USA. In May 2016 he joined Germicopa as business development director.

Today his ambition as general manager is to grow Germicopa’s market share both in France and abroad. The objective is to exceed 80,000 tonnes of potato plants by 2020.

Subsidiary of the FLORIMOND DESPREZ GROUP, Germicopa’s core activities are potato breeding and plant production. The company employs 50 people and generates a turnover of €40 million. The head office is in Quimper, in the French department of Finistère. Germicopa produces 70,000 tonnes of plants each year.
