Florimond Desprez is involved in collaborative programs between public and private research: AKER to improve the competitiveness of sugar beet, Breedwheat to develop new wheat varieties for a sustainable agriculture, IFMAS to create new agro-based materials, etc.

The AKER project aims to improve the competitiveness of sugar beet in France by 2020 by doubling the annual rate of yield growth in terms of sugar per hectare (4% vs. 2 %), faced with an international environment marked by growing global demand for sugar and the predominance of sugar cane. |

The Breedwheat project aims to clear the scientific and technological boundaries that will develop new wheat varieties with high yield, resistant to drought and diseases and require less nitrogen fertilizer, to meet the challenge of producing quantity and quality in a sustainable development. |
